How to Clear Airport Security Rapidly: Part 2

By John Romeo

In Part 1, I covered the importance of dressing appropriately, what to carry on your person, and what jewelry to wear or not wear. In this part, we will be discussing what not to pack and how to get around being stopped. If you desire to clear airport security with efficiency, than these are important tips for you to take note of!

The biggest grounds that people get halted is that they are ignorant of the things they are not allowed to bring on an airplane. If you are a cigarette smoker, make sure you do not have a lighter on you, because it will get repossessed. Also, do not bring a bottle of fluid in with you as they will make you dispose of it. There are measurements for the amount of a liquid you can bring on to a plane.

It isn't just water that gets the shaft either. It's any liquid that goes in a plastic bottle, like shampoo or lotion. There are containers that are made specifically for travel, and they can usually be found at places like Target, pharmacies, or just online if you do it far enough in advance. When it comes to sharp objects, just avoid anything that might be questionable: knives, scissors, box cutters. The weird ones are tweezers and nail clippers. They will get confiscated so make sure you put those in your suitcase and not your carry-on.

Unless you absolutely need it for business purposes, avoid packing a laptop computer at all costs. Laptops most of the time need to get severely examined and opened up to make sure it is low risk to get on the plane. Small electronic devices like iPods, cell phones, and tablet equipment seem to fair well, but if you are trying to clear airport security, any larger electronic devices are important to avoid.

That is just about it in terms of avoiding airport security's long lines. To sum it up, just dress very casually with very little on your person, and avoid bringing any questionable items in your carry-on bag. Stick to these tips, and you should have a headache free process.
